Experience

My materials-engineering work now centers on wearable products: coating systems, product stability, material characterization, and decisions made under real product constraints.

Snapshot

Wearable materials, judged by what users notice.

The question behind my recent work is simple: when a material choice looks small on paper, where does it show up in the finished product? That question keeps pulling me back to surfaces, fit, durability, characterization, cost, and cross-functional decisions.

Materials Engineer

Shokz / Permanent / Hong Kong SAR / On-site

In my current role, I work on wearable materials, product stability, and materials development. The work gets interesting when material behavior, manufacturing reality, and product experience all have to make sense at the same time.

  • Delivered a 43% reduction in overall coating expenses while keeping the decision tied to product constraints.
  • Frame coating and materials questions around what the product must survive in use.
  • Turn material behavior into trade-offs that designers, engineers, and operations partners can act on.
  • Product stability enhancement
  • Materials development
  • Coating systems
  • Wearable devices

Wearable Devices Materials Engineer Intern

Shokz / Internship / Hong Kong SAR / On-site

This internship moved materials work from classroom concepts into daily product decisions. I started to handle materials directly, read characterization results with a product question in mind, and learn how fast engineering trade-offs have to become clear.

  • Handled materials closely enough to notice how small differences show up in use.
  • Used characterization to support product-stability questions, not just produce data.
  • Learned the pace and language of day-to-day engineering decisions inside a wearable-product team.
  • Material handling
  • Material characterization
  • Wearable devices

Education

Physics and material-science foundation.

Sep 2023 — Jul 2024

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Master of Science, Physics

My MSc in Physics sharpened how I handle uncertainty, evidence, and trade-offs. A guided study on thermodynamic fundamentals trained me to separate what is measurable, what is assumed, and what actually matters for the decision in front of me.

Sep 2019 — Jul 2023

Jinan University

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Physics

My undergraduate training in Material Physics gave me the foundation for reading material behavior and thinking through engineering trade-offs.
